In response to the new era of hybrid working we worked closely with a long-term financial client to help rationalise their estate.

Planning and strategy

In November 2023, Business Moves Group (BMG) was contacted  to oversee a multi-site office clearance. Within a week of the request we had conducted site surveys and provided a comprehensive quote.

We established clear project deadlines in close collaboration with the client and conducted additional site visits to ensure alignment with its requirements. The involvement of the clients’ project manager ensured the project remained on track and all stakeholders were aware of the progress.

BMG efficiently cleared approximately 52,505 cubic feet of furniture and assets from a number of buildings in a two-week period – the equivalent of 26 double decker buses. Despite challenges such as limited lift access, we meticulously managed resources to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

We liaised with local councils to secure loading areas which was essential due to the central locations and limited access space. The client also had specific requirements for technical equipment, such as the removal of large safes and plant equipment. We were able to factor this into our project delivery which removed the need for the client to engage multiple contractors.

Strategic furniture management leads to cost savings and improved sustainability

Through partnerships with our second-hand furniture dealers, we were able to offer a rebate of £7,350 which was offset against our initial quote.

More than 98 tonnes of redundant items were diverted from landfills – the equivalent to 14 elephants – which supported the client with its sustainability goals.

The project was completed on time and within budget without impacting business operations. These results underscore BMG's commitment to delivering quality service while prioritising client objectives and sustainability goals.
