Earlier this year, BMG cleared and relocated a multinational investment bank and financial services’ workspaces in Prague and Amsterdam, and ensured that unwanted furniture was relocated or recycled as needed.

We leveraged our international expertise to execute large-scale relocations and sustainable office clearances. We successfully and seamlessly managed each transition between Prague, Amsterdam, London, and The Hague.

Project overview

The client required a multi-location relocation and clearance project to consolidate operations while maintaining business continuity. The brief included:

  • A full workspace clearance and relocation in Prague, transferring assets from a central office to a corporate site.
  • A decommission and relocation of workspaces in Amsterdam, as well as another central office to the new World Trade Center Amsterdam location.
  • Sustainable disposal and rehoming of furniture and equipment to reduce environmental impact.

With tight deadlines and complex logistical challenges spanning multiple countries, the investment bank needed a trusted partner with a proven track record of managing large-scale global workplace transitions.

BMG maintained a centralised project management approach to ensure that the project was delivered on time, on budget, and with minimal disruption.

Global planning and execution

BMG led the project by:

  • Surveying and scoping the Prague and Amsterdam sites to determine the exact resources required.
  • Implementing a structured move plan to ensure business continuity and minimal downtime for over 80 staff across the locations.
  • Coordinating logistics for assets being transferred across international locations, including London, Prague, and The Hague.

Each move was planned and executed outside of business hours to prevent disruption. Local teams worked under BMG’s project management oversight, ensuring that every phase aligned with the client’s global real estate strategy.

Sustainable asset management

A core priority for the investment bank was minimising environmental impact. Key sustainability outcomes included:

  • Zero landfill: All redundant furniture and equipment were either rehomed or responsibly recycled.
  • Global reuse and redistribution: Over 130 pieces of office equipment were relocated to new offices in London, The Hague, and Prague.
  • Local circular economy impact: Approximately 500 pieces of furniture were donated to local organisations or sent to sustainable recycling facilities.

Delivering results

BMG helped plan, mobilise and complete the moves, and in the process achieved:

  • Full clearance and relocation completed on schedule with zero business disruption.
  • Successful transfer of high-value assets, including artwork, secure storage, and office furnishings.
  • Seamless international logistics coordination, supporting the client’s corporate real estate consolidation strategy.
  • Sustainability goals, ensuring that all furniture was responsibly rehomed, reused, or recycled.
