Case study: Office relocation for R&M

Reichle & De-Massari UK Ltd (R&M) is a leading manufacturer of cabling and network solutions for Data Centres, FTTX, LAN and industrial markets. The company recently sought a business relocation to facilitate a more convenient commute for its staff. The move involved relocating from Reading to Hemel Hempstead and required careful planning and execution due to the sensitive nature of some of the equipment.

R&M had previously managed an internal move within the same building by themselves. This time, needing professional assistance for an external relocation, they discovered Business Moves Group (BMG) through a Google search and were impressed by our track record and range of services.

Pre-move planning

Move manager Callum Fox conducted a thorough site visit prior to the move day to ensure that all potential challenges were identified and addressed. On the day of the move, Callum was present on-site to oversee the process, ensuring everything went smoothly.

IT relocation

In addition to the typical office equipment such as tables, printers and stools, we relocated six server racks and blades and one cooling unit, all of which were packed into bubble bags and cages. Servers and IT equipment is understandably critical to a successful move, as even slight delays can cause business downtime. We worked closely with the R&M team to develop a schedule that suited them and their employees.
