Key considerations for ATM installations

Timescales

The deinstallation and installation of ATMs must take place during out-of-office hours to minimise disruption to banking operations. Our teams liaise with clients to determine the most suitable times for the project.

ATM weight

ATMs can weight anywhere from 500 kilograms to 1.2 tonnes, so special vehicles are critical for their safe transportation.

Team expertise

Each job typically involves a crew of three to four individuals, with crew members holding essential qualifications such as CSCS cards, manual handling expertise, pump truck certificates, and five points of personal protective equipment (PPE) for their safety.

Specialist equipment

A range of equipment, including hand pallet trucks, high risers, roller bars, PPE, and wooden block barrows are utilised to facilitate the safe handling and transportation of the ATMs. Ensuring the safety and proper lifting techniques during this process is always of paramount importance.

Planning and executing a project

Planning is always intricate part of any operation considering the various challenges. We start with a thorough survey to confirm that the ATM will fit in the designated location, along with a structural survey to ensure the floor's strength and stability. Some of the locations we deliver to are situated in old Victorian buildings, so carrying out an audit in advance is vital.

Security is also a priority for clients. We use a tablet-based system that offers live tracking, surveys, and sign offs, enhancing efficiency and transparency throughout the ATM relocation process.
