One of the most renowned football clubs in the world recently embarked on a relocation project from its temporary office in Central London to West London.

Business Moves Group (BMG) has been engaged with the real estate team at the club for some time and we jumped at the opportunity to support them in their complex move.

Project scope

Our involvement began with a site survey which allowed us to accurately assess the logistical requirements of the move. A comprehensive quotation covered all aspects of the project, including deliveries to multiple addresses and the transportation of items from the club’s iconic stadium. Our proposal considered the unique needs of the client, ensuring a tailored solution that aligned with its vision for the new offices.

A collaborative approach

Once we had been awarded the contract, our first step was to identify a move manager who perfectly fit the project's requirements and the client's organisational culture. The move manager is central to the entire project and needs to be someone who has both the skills and the personality to be a success.

We conducted in-depth interviews with the club’s real estate team to find the right person. The appointed move manager then took charge, engaging with staff and meticulously planning the moves. They worked closely with building management to coordinate deliveries and ensure smooth operations throughout the entire process.

The relocation took place over six days, during which BMG handled various tasks such as IT decommissioning and recommissioning, transferring staff belongings and transporting furniture.

Relocating specialist items

We also took care of valuable artwork and cherished memorabilia to the new location.

Our Reading and Leeds teams collaborated to transport a replica trophy across the country to London, and we also had the pleasure of safely moving a 3-metre-long picture of its stadium from the temporary office to its new high-end home in west London.

All these items required specialist handling and security measures which were handled by our technical distribution team.

The results – 3 points for BMG

Our commitment and expertise shone through as we successfully completed the relocation project. We went above and beyond by distributing miscellaneous items to staff houses and other designated properties, including charitable contributions. The closure of the old offices was efficiently managed, ensuring a seamless handover for the club’s employees.
