Anthony Collins is a specialist law firm with over 300 staff and 40 partners, and offices in Birmingham, Manchester and Macclesfield. It has a national reputation for advising individuals, charities and other not-for-profit organisations, local authorities, public-sector bodies and businesses throughout the UK.

We recently supported the Birmingham office with a workplace refurbishment project.

Project scope

We were tasked with the clearance of floors and the removal of redundant furniture. We also moved items and equipment between floors while refurbishment work took place, including:

  • Office furniture
  • Kitchen equipment
  • IT equipment
  • Personal items
  • Safes
  • Confidential files

We worked closely with Anthony Collins to ensure that our work aligned with the timelines of the refurbishment, and that moves between floors were completed to cause the least disruption to their employees.

Multi-service support

We began the project by carrying out an extensive asset inventory as part of our furniture management service. This helped the team at Anthony Collins determine what items to keep and what was no longer required.

We relocated more than 200 items between different floors Anthony Collins offices. We also recycled numerous items and provided a comprehensive report that detailed the journey of each composite material.

We have links with numerous charities in all the regions we work in and donate unwanted furniture on behalf of our clients. For this project we donated furniture to Uplands Manor Primary School & Nursery’s library and received a lovely handwritten thank you from the children!

Storage was required during the refurbishment; in this case, we stored all items at our Birmingham branch.

IT moves require specialist attention as any delays can have a big impact. We decommissioned and recommissioned all IT equipment, testing it all before signing off. We understand that for an employee there is nothing more frustrating that someone messing with your desk set up, so we audited all desks so that we could set them up exactly as they were, right down to which side each mouse was on.

Confidential materials

We appreciate that law firms have numerous confidential files that must be secured safely during a move. We have extensive experience in handling sensitive materials from our work with other legal firms, as well as in healthcare where we have transported patient files.

Our team was fully equipped and briefed to ensure that every single file was accounted for and secure throughout the move, and that Anthony Collins employees could access them with ease when needed.

Legal sector workplace support

We have supported law firms of varying sizes with their relocation and workplace change projects.
