Workplace change and relocation specialists Business Moves Group (BMG) have won a major relocation contract with Leeds Building Society. The Society was founded in 1875 to help people save and have the home they want, which remains its purpose to this day.

BMG will support the Society with its relocation to a new head office after more than 80 years at its current location. Over 900 colleagues will be moving to the refurbished building  on Sovereign Street, with three current sites consolidated into the new space.

BMG will project manage the relocation that includes furniture management (asset registration, sourcing and donation / recycling of redundant furniture), moves planning, occupancy management, relocation of IT equipment, and post-move assistance. The current timeline is to deliver the move over three consecutive weekends in April, subject to change pending Covid restrictions.

Andy Gerrard, project manager at BMG commented: “Office relocations represent a perfect time to integrate change management initiatives. The need for workplace change brought about by the pandemic makes this move extremely timely. We’re delighted to have been trusted with the task by Leeds Building Society and look forward to a successful move.”

Mike Briffett, project director at Leeds Building Society added: “This office move represents an exciting new chapter in our long history and it’s essential that we have an expert partner to help everything go smoothly. We were thoroughly impressed by the experience, knowledge and professionalism of the BMG team and can’t wait to move into our new home.”
